The project will follow the following timeline:
| December 1, 2005 - January 6, 2006 | Open registration period |
| January 9 - February 3, 2006 | Create a wall map of the trail |
| February 6 - February 17, 2006 | Select a musher to follow in the race |
| February 20 - March 3, 2006 | Prepare your class for the big event |
| March 4, 2006 - end of the race | Follow your musher and email us at each checkpoint as he or she progresses! |
| March 31, 2006 | Receive an official 2006 eIditarod class certificate for completion of the trail! |
