Dear Dee Jonrowe:

Hi Dee Dee. How are you doing? We are big fans of yours. We are Ms. Ramirez's 4th grade class from Fairbanks Elementary School in Morenci, Arizona. Our class chose you to follow you as part of an Iditarod project. We learned a lot about you, your dogs, and Alaska.

We picked you because you were a good person and cared more about your dogs than winning the race. We know you have placed 2nd and we wanted you to finish safely again this year, and we're glad you did! We know you've won many awards for having good sportsmanship and caring about your dogs, and we think that's very cool.

We think it's cool that you've raced the Iditarod so many times and we have a few questions for you…

1) How did you feel when you had to leave one of your dogs behind?
2) Did you have lots of confidence in your dogs?
3) Were you ever scared for your dogs?
4) What was the first thing you wanted to do after you finished?
5) How does it feel to be a role model?

We are all very happy that you and your team finished and are doing fine. You are our class's role model. We even put a picture of a sign we made for you on our project website. We hope you saw it. Your can go to… http://www.surfaquarium.com/e_iditarod.htm.

Good luck and we hope to see you back out there next year.
