Dear Mr. King:

For the past month and a half, my eighth grade class has been researching th Iditarod and participating in the e_Iditarod. We corresponded with many other schools to share facts and information. We also had to pick a musher to root for and follow. Our class chose you.

We learned a lot about mushing, sled dogs, and the mushers themselves. We watched videos, read books and surfed the Internet for any bits of information on the Iditarod we could find. We learned that it's not who wins the race, but the journey one takes, and you've set an example for our class. We congratulate you on your successful race and placing third.
