Early Years

 

 

Andrew Jackson was born  on March 15, 1767 to a poor family  in what is now Waxhaw, SC. Jackson's  father had died before he was born. When he was young Jackson attended a good school. His mother wanted him to be a Christian minister. He and his two brothers Hugh and Robert served their country and decided to battle the British . Both of his brothers dies and by the war's end, Jackson's mother had died of cholera. At the age of 13 Jackson was an orphan.
