Art and Architecture
The
Plaza is a mixture of European and Spanish styles of architecture. Decorative
architectural elements, such as celestial symbols, are seen in the design
of the doorways and windows. Suns, stars, and moons can be viewed on towers,
in tilework, entrances, doorways, and windows.

and Mythology

Photos and drawings were created by Liesa Schroeder's students at Santa
Fe Trail Elementary School, Independence Missouri School District.

The
Plaza contains many unique statuary, fountains, and iron fixtures that reference
Greek and Roman mythology. The J.C. Nichols Company has spent over one million
dollars for the purchase of the outdoor artwork.
